MLC is the proud owner of the Medlite C6 Medical Grade 4 Laser by Cynosure. This Q-Switch Laser offers the safest most effective treatment for tattoo removal and is trusted by practitioners worldwide for its consistent results.
How does it work?
The laser picks up on the tattoo by using high powered pulses to help shatter that ink into small particles underneath the skin, without causing damage to any surrounding tissue. The shattered ink is then removed by the body naturally through the lymphatic system and the body’s waste. Treatments are fast for patient comfortability and satisfaction.
How Painful are the treatments?
At MLC we aim to make all our treatments comfortable for all of our patients, this is made possible thanks to our cooling device and numbing gel.
The Cryo 6 offers comfort by applying consistent cold airflow to the area being treated- this also decreases the risk of burns as it cools the skin temperature quicker than any other forms of cooling such as ice packs etc…
A specially made numbing gel which has been formulated by a compounding pharmacy is sent to all clients before Laser Tattoo Removal ensuring patient comfort.
There are a few factors that come into account when trying to determine how many sessions are needed, these include:
- Skin Type
- Location on the body
- Amount of ink
- Layering
- Scar tissue
- Colours
For most removals you will need 6-12 treatments, to fade for a cover up 2-4 treatments (estimate only)
How often are treatments?
Wait times are very important between sessions as it takes time for the body to eliminate ink particles. It is advised to wait 6-8 weeks between sessions.
What to expect after treatment?
Most common side effects straight after Laser Tattoo removal include, some swelling and redness over the areas other symptoms may include, slight tingling or itching, skin discolouration or mild blistering all of which are very normal. Please make sure you are following your technicians aftercare instructions and using the aftercare products recommended.
